Please take time to read these before your first session.

Appointments

Appointments will ordinarily be 1 hour in duration, at a day and time agreed on with your counsellor.

Cancellation Policy

As your session time will be kept for you, if you need to cancel or reschedule a session please provide at least 48 hours’ notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice or a no show will be charged at full rate to the client.

Professional Records

It is a requirement to keep appropriate records of the counselling sessions. Information is stored confidentially and all session notes are non-identifiable. Information is only ever shared in very specific and tightly controlled circumstances with your consent.

Confidentiality

Psychotherapists and counsellors are bound by legislation and professional ethics to keep the details of sessions strictly confidential except in the following situations:

A person presents an acute, physical danger to themselves
If suspected child abuse or elder abuse is disclosed where there may be a current risk to a child/other.
A serious threat to a reasonably well-identified victim is communicated to the therapist.

Signed consent

GDPR regulations require that signed consent is given by the client, given the sensitive nature of information shared during sessions. You will be asked to sign a simple consent form stating that you have read and understand the above policies.
